Elizabeth Soglin is a senior Theatre Design and Technical Production major at Western Michigan University. She is working towards her BFA with a focus in props, and looks forward to graduating this Spring. Lizzy is originally from suburban Chicago, Illinois, and has been lucky to have grown up in and around Chicago's vibrant theatre scene. Lizzy loves the collaborative nature of props, because she gets to work with artists of all technical focuses and performers. She loves being able to support the actor in making discoveries about their character through her props. Elizabeth made her professional debut in the 2018 Summer Season at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts. She was thrilled to return in 2019 for a second season as their Properties Designer and work with the remarkably talented cast, crew and creative team. Early last fall she was the Properties Master for Sunday in the Park with George, an outdoor, socially distant production. She was also the Properties Designer for TimorAmino: Fear and Courage, an evening of theatre fully devised by her and her classmates. This semester she is taking part of the New Beginnings Project, and will be designing props for three scenes from three different shows. She is thrilled and thankful to be making theatre in this time of great uncertainty. To get in contact with her, please email her at elizabethsoglin@gmail.com, or find her on instagram @donttouchtheprops. Thank you for visiting. |
